I just finished watching the results of the Project Superstar and I really feel it's a very unfair way of choosing an idol for Singapore. Although I didn't watch the show but I believe whatever scores the judges gave to the contestants is based on their experiences and what a superstar ought to possess. Instead, the media had proven a point which they entirely overlooked - the professionalism in a superstar. The most important criteria in the competition is SUPPOSED to be their voices, not the audiences' SMSes! For example, William who got the highest scores from the judges but because he may not have as much friends or supporters from the other contestants, he got knocked out. Is that suppose to be the way how a competition should be held? It's supposed to be based on what he or she possesses, the skills, the voice and not on some unfair SMSes. Who knows the other contestants have one or two richer friends who would dump thousands of dollars on them just because the contestant is his buddy and he has got the money? But if it comes to the fact, the judges don't think he could make it good in the show biz, would that help? Then what for hold such a competition? That defeats the whole purpose isn't it? Though Singtel/M1/Starhub may gain from this competition, but they shouldn't have made the competition to be based on SMSes. The contestants need skills, not SMSes to push them up to show biz. If that's the case then perhaps Li Jun would have won, since she's familiar to everyone as she acted on some mandarin serial. There's no need for this idiotic competition. She's popular, she'll definitely have lots of supporters. I don't like how the way this competition is held. Defeated the whole purpose. Be as popular as Stefanie Sun? She deserves what she's achieving now. Not like all these competitions. She made a fame out of herself without these competitions. That proves her professionalism and not through SMSes.
